Reddit search: users, Reddit Answers and the Google dependency

Published: Last updated:

Reddit disclosed more than 80 million weekly searchers in its Q4 2025 letter, up from 60 million a year earlier. Its Q2 2026 letter carried no search figure and called Google referrals "choppy".

Reddit's search story runs on two numbers: how many people search on Reddit itself, and how much traffic Google sends. Both come from Reddit's shareholder letters.

The Q4 2025 letter reported "over 80 million people searching directly on Reddit every week", up from 60 million a year earlier. It also reported core search and Reddit Answers unified into one experience.

The Q2 2026 letter, reporting revenue up 61%, carried no search-user figure for the first time in six quarters. Its one sentence on "choppy" Google referrals sent the shares down about 11% after hours.
