Stripe Fee Calculator

See the Stripe processing fee and your net payout, with international surcharges covered.

Enter the charge amount to see Stripe's fee and what reaches your balance. The rate is editable, and Advanced options handle international cards and reverse gross-up.

How it works

Stripe's standard US online card pricing is 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge. International cards add about 1.5%, and currency conversion another 1%; other countries and products (invoicing, links, in-person) have their own rates, which is why the rate and fixed fee here are editable.

Formula: Fee = Amount x Rate + Fixed; Net = Amount - Fee. Reverse: Charge = (Target + Fixed) / (1 - Rate).

Advanced options add the international-card surcharge and a reverse gross-up: enter what you want to receive and see what to charge.

Everything runs in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to a server, and there is no signup or limit. Your last entries are remembered locally so the calculator is ready next time.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Stripe charge per transaction?

The standard US online card rate is 2.9% + $0.30. On a $100 charge that is $3.20, leaving $96.80. Rates differ by country, payment method, and negotiated pricing, so enter your own rate for exact numbers.

What extra fees apply to international cards?

Stripe adds roughly 1.5% for cards issued outside your country, and 1% more if the charge needs currency conversion. Turn on Advanced options and enter the surcharge to see the real cost of an international sale.

How much should I charge to receive a specific amount?

Divide your target by (1 minus the rate) and add back the fixed fee. To net $100 at 2.9% + $0.30: ($100 + $0.30) / 0.971 = about $103.30. The Advanced target-amount field works this out for you.

Does Stripe charge for refunds or failed payments?

Failed payments cost nothing. On refunds Stripe returns none of the original processing fee, so a full refund leaves you out the fee, worth pricing in if refunds are common in your business. Disputes carry a separate fixed fee.

Is this Stripe fee calculator free?

Yes, free with no signup, running entirely in your browser. It is not affiliated with Stripe; confirm your exact pricing in your Stripe dashboard.
