How accurate is the Etsy Fee Calculator?
It ships with Etsy's published 2026 US rates: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, payment processing of 3% plus $0.25, and an optional Offsite Ads fee of 15% (12% once your shop passes $10,000 in yearly sales). Etsy changes rates and processing fees differ by country, so every rate is an editable input: type the figures from your own Payment account and the maths follows. What are Etsy Offsite Ads, and can I opt out?
Etsy advertises listings on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Bing at its own expense and charges a fee only when a shopper clicks one of those ads and buys within 30 days: 15% of the order, or 12% for shops that made more than $10,000 in the past 365 days. Shops under that threshold can opt out in Shop Manager; shops over it cannot. The Etsy Fee Calculator shows the take-home with and without the fee so you can price for the worst case.
How do I price a handmade item on Etsy?
Add up materials, packaging, and your time at an hourly rate to get the cost of one item, then use the Markup Calculator or the Margin Calculator to reach a price with the margin you want. Run that price through the Etsy Fee Calculator with your usual shipping charge, because the 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping too, and adjust until the take-home covers the cost with room for a sale price and the Offsite Ads fee.
Can I research Etsy keywords or tags here?
Not yet on this page. Etsy does not publish per-keyword search volume and its search suggestions are not open to outside tools, so for product demand today use the Google Keyword Tool and the Search Volume Checker, which give Google's search volume for any product term and track marketplace demand well for most categories. Remember Etsy's tag rules when you write them: 13 tags, 20 characters each, letters, numbers, and spaces. Is there a limit on how much I can use them?
The calculators have no limit. Tools that generate copy or look up keyword data have a per-day usage allowance so that a few heavy users cannot slow them down for everyone; the free allowances are generous for typical use, and signing in on a paid Keywords Everywhere plan raises the daily caps. Every plan has a cap, higher tiers simply get a higher one.
