The Spell Checker reads your text and flags spelling mistakes and typos, explains each issue in plain English, and returns a corrected version you can copy. It is powered by a large language model, so it understands context rather than matching a fixed dictionary or rule list.
This tool checks spelling only, so the results stay focused. For commas and apostrophes use the Punctuation Checker; for an all-round grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and style pass use the Proofreader.
Honest framing. AI-generated corrections are a strong first pass, but always re-read the result, especially for names, technical terms, and intentional stylistic choices. You stay in control: the corrected text is fully editable before you copy it.
Plan caps. Free visitors check up to 2,000 characters per submission; paid plans handle more. Each check also uses part of your shared daily AI token budget, shown by the quota chip.

How do I check spelling with this tool?

Is this spell checker free?
Yes, free with no signup. Free visitors can check up to 2,000 characters at a time; signed-in paid plans can check longer passages. Each check also draws from a shared daily AI allowance shown by the quota chip on the page.
Does it check grammar and punctuation too?

Does it handle British and American spelling?
Yes. It auto-detects the English variant from your text and does not flag spellings that are valid in that variant (for example "colour" in UK English or "color" in US English). Keep your spelling consistent and it follows your lead.
Will it flag names or technical terms as misspelled?
Occasionally. Proper nouns, brand names, and niche jargon can look like misspellings to any checker. Every flagged item shows the exact word and a suggested fix, so you can simply skip the ones that are intentional.
Can I check spelling in languages other than English?
Yes. It checks text in the language you paste and returns the corrected version in that same language. The per-issue explanations are written in English.
How much text can I check at once?
The per-check limit depends on your plan: Free 2,000, Bronze 4,000, Silver 6,000, Gold 9,000, and Platinum 12,000 characters. The live counter under the box turns amber as you approach your limit.
Is my text stored?
A copy is kept briefly so you can reopen recent checks from your browser and via share links; rows expire automatically after 30 days. Your text is not used for anything else.
