Sentence Rephraser

Rephrase any sentence in 15 different tones to match your target audience and writing style.

Tone (pick one)

How it works

The Sentence Rephraser takes a short input (up to 500 characters) and returns one rewritten version in the tone you pick. It runs on a large language model, so it works from meaning rather than swapping synonyms. A rewrite usually restructures the sentence, shifts the voice, and reorders clauses as well as changing words.

What you can adjust:

  • Tone, one of 15: Standard, Formal, Casual, Concise, Expanded, Confident, Friendly, Persuasive, Witty, Empathetic, Bold, Academic, Storytelling, Urgent, and Inspirational. Each tone changes both structure and word choice.
  • Focus keyword (optional). The rewrite keeps it word for word when it can. The result card shows a Keyword-present or Keyword-missing pill, so you can re-roll if the AI dropped it.
  • Target length (optional). A character budget from a preset (Meta description 155, Title 60, Tweet 280) or a custom value. The rewrite is asked to fit it.

A note on AI detection. AI-written text, including paraphrases, can be recognized by AI-detection tools, plagiarism checkers, and academic-integrity systems. This tool is for marketing copy, clearer phrasing for non-native writers, A/B variation testing, and content optimization. It is not for hiding the source of a text or passing AI text off as your own.

Plan caps. Each call uses part of your daily AI token budget. On the Free plan that budget is 50,000 tokens a day. It is shared by every AI tool on this site, such as the AI Text Generator, AI Summarizer, AI Grammar Checker, and Paragraph Generator. The quota chip on the page shows how much you have left.

What you will see

Your text
The sentence or short paragraph you pasted, up to 500 characters. The counter under the box turns amber as you near the limit.
Focus keyword
An optional phrase the rewrite should keep. Useful when an SEO target word has to survive the paraphrase. The result card shows whether the rewrite kept it.
Target length
An optional character budget. Pick a preset (Meta description, Title, Tweet) or enter a number from 20 to 500. The AI is asked to fit the budget, and the result card shows the actual character count so you can check.
Tone
One of 15 styles. Each tone changes sentence structure, voice, and pacing, not only the vocabulary. Hover any tone pill for a short description.
Rewrite card
The rewritten sentence in an editable box. Edit it in place, click Copy, or click Regenerate to re-roll the same tone with a different angle. The card also shows the live character count, word count, Flesch reading-ease score, and the keyword pill.

Frequently asked questions

How do I rewrite a sentence with this tool?

Paste a sentence or short paragraph into the box (up to 500 characters) and pick one of the 15 tones. You can also add a focus keyword to keep, or a target length such as Meta description, Title, or Tweet. Then click Rewrite Sentence. You get one rewritten version that keeps the original meaning in the tone you picked.

What is the best way to rewrite a sentence?

Decide first what the rewrite should do differently. Tighten the length, soften the tone, sound more authoritative, fit a character budget, or work in a keyword. A good rewrite changes the structure of the sentence, not just the words. It reorders clauses, swaps passive for active voice, or splits a long sentence in two. The tone picker here works the same way. Each tone shifts structure and word choice together.

How do I rephrase my sentence to sound more professional?

Pick the Formal or Academic tone. For a direct executive-summary style, pick Confident. Formal uses complete sentences and avoids contractions. Academic adds the qualifiers and hedge words that research writing expects. Confident drops the hedges and states things plainly. Try one, edit the result in the card, and re-roll with another tone if the angle is wrong.

What is a paraphrase example?

Take the original sentence "We need to start reducing waste in our packaging to attract eco-conscious customers". In the Concise tone it becomes "Cutting packaging waste will win us eco-conscious customers". In the Persuasive tone it becomes "Eco-conscious shoppers buy from brands that prove they care, so the packaging cuts have to start now". Both keep the meaning but change the sentence structure and the framing. That change in structure is what separates a useful paraphrase from a synonym swap.

Will rewritten text bypass AI-detection tools?

No. This tool is not a way around plagiarism or AI detection. Modern detection tools and academic-integrity systems can recognize AI-written rewrites no matter how the paraphrase was made. The tool is meant for marketing-copy variation, clearer phrasing for non-native writers, A/B testing of different angles, and content optimization. Do not use it to hide the source of a text or to pass AI-written text off as your own work.

What are the 5 steps to paraphrasing well?

  • Read the full sentence first. Understand what it claims before you touch the words.
  • Find the key nouns. Those are the ideas you must keep. Everything else is style.
  • Change the structure. Reorder clauses, switch between active and passive voice, split or join sentences. This is what stops the rewrite from reading like a thesaurus.
  • Replace style words. Adjectives and adverbs carry the tone. Swap them to fit the audience.
  • Re-read in context. A rewrite that sounds great on its own can clash with the sentences around it. Paste it back and re-read the paragraph.

Does the focus keyword change the output?

Yes. When you give a focus keyword, the rewrite is told to keep that exact phrase or a close grammatical form of it. That way your SEO target survives the paraphrase. After the rewrite returns, the card shows a green "Keyword present" pill if the AI kept it, or an amber "Keyword missing" pill if it did not. If it is missing, re-roll with the same tone or try another tone.

How much can I rewrite in one day?

Each call uses part of your daily AI token budget, and the quota chip on the page shows how much you have left after every rewrite. On the Free plan the budget is 50,000 tokens a day. The same budget is shared by every AI tool on this site, so it also covers summaries, idea generation, and grammar checks.
