How it works
TL;DR ("too long; didn't read") is Reddit's convention for a one- or two-line summary at the top or bottom of a long post, and many communities ask for one. The Reddit TL;DR Generator reads the text you paste and writes four versions: a single sentence under 25 words, a fuller sentence that keeps the key number or name, two short sentences (what happened, then the ask or takeaway), and a three-point line separated by semicolons. Each starts with "TL;DR:" so it pastes straight in.
The summaries keep the writer's voice and person (if the post says "I", the TL;DR says "I"), add nothing that is not in the text, and keep any warning or caveat the original makes. Pick Match the original, Neutral (third person, for summarizing someone else's thread), or Casual. Generate more gives two further variants.
