How it works
The Reddit Keyword Tool harvests the "keyword + reddit" searches from Google's public suggest API. That is the same API that powers the dropdown in Google's search box. People add "reddit" to a search when they want real opinions instead of marketing pages, and Google now ranks Reddit threads for those searches. So these phrases map out what your audience researches on Reddit. Every phrase is then enriched with monthly search volume, CPC, competition and a 12-month trend.
How the harvest works. The harvest runs in your browser, so the requests come from your IP address, not ours. It combines your seed with about 70 Reddit-flavoured modifiers. Examples are "reddit", "reddit best", "reddit worth it", "reddit vs", "reddit 2026" and "reddit uk", plus the letters and digits people continue with. It keeps only the suggestions that contain the word reddit. Nothing comes from Reddit, and nothing connects to your account.
Volume enrichment. As keywords arrive, we send them to the Keywords Everywhere API in batches of 100 for volume, CPC, competition and the 12-month trend. Results stream back into the table as they arrive. There is no need to wait for the whole harvest to finish.
Country targeting. The Country dropdown sets both the suggest API's region hint and the country for the volume lookup. Suggestions reflect that market's real searches, and volume and CPC are specific to it. Your last-picked country is remembered for next time.
Careful pacing. The harvest sends about one request every 1.5 seconds to stay under Google's per-IP rate limit. A 5-seed harvest takes about 10 minutes. You can stop at any time and keep the keywords found so far. Then take a phrase to the Reddit Thread Finder to see which threads rank for it.
Plan caps. On the Free plan you can run 500 keyword lookups per day across all our keyword tools combined.
What the columns mean
- Keyword
- The exact "keyword + reddit" suggestion Google's autosuggest returned for your seed. Click the link icon to open it in the Reddit Thread Finder, which shows the threads Google ranks for it, or in SERP Checker.
- Volume
- Google's average monthly searches over the past 12 months, from Google Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API. A zero-volume row is usually a newer suggestion Google has no data on yet, or a very rare long-tail term.
- CPC
- The average cost per click advertisers pay in Google Ads for that keyword, in the country's currency. A high CPC usually marks a keyword with buying intent, where advertisers compete hard.
- Competition
- Google Ads' competition score: Low, Medium or High. It shows how many advertisers bid on the keyword. It is a rough guide to SEO difficulty too, since heavy ad competition usually comes with heavy organic competition.
- 12-Month Trend
- A small chart of monthly search volume over the past year. Use it to spot seasonal patterns or rising and falling interest. Hover over any point for that month's exact value.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Reddit Keyword Tool?
A free keyword research tool with no signup, built for the searches people add "reddit" to. Enter a seed term and it harvests the real "keyword + reddit" phrases that Google's autocomplete suggests. Examples are "best vacuum reddit", "standing desk worth it reddit" and "learn python reddit". Every phrase is then enriched with monthly search volume, cost per click (CPC), competition and a 12-month trend.
Why do people add "reddit" to their Google searches?
To get opinions from real people instead of marketing pages. They want reviews, recommendations and answers to "is it worth it" and "which one" questions. Google noticed, and now ranks Reddit threads for many of those searches. Knowing which phrases carry the "reddit" word tells you three things. Which topics your audience researches on Reddit. Which threads to read or answer. And which questions a guide on your own site should cover.
Where do the suggestions come from?
From Google's public suggest API, the same source as the dropdown in Google's search box. So every phrase is one that real users have typed. The harvest combines your seed with a set of Reddit-flavoured modifiers. Examples are "reddit best", "reddit worth it", "reddit vs" and "reddit 2026", plus the letters and digits people continue with. It keeps only the suggestions that contain the word reddit. Nothing comes from Reddit itself, and nothing connects to your Reddit account.
What do I do with these keywords?
Three things. Read the threads: paste a phrase into the Reddit Thread Finder to see which threads Google ranks for it and how much traffic they get. Answer the question on your own site, with the phrase in the title. People who add "reddit" want an honest, specific answer, and a page that gives one can rank next to the threads. Or join the conversation: the Subreddit Finder shows which communities Google surfaces for the topic.
Why does the harvest take a few minutes?
To stay under Google's per-IP rate limit, we send about one request every 1.5 seconds. Each seed fires about 70 modifier calls, so a 5-seed harvest takes roughly 10 minutes. Leave the tab open. Results stream into the table as they arrive, and you can stop early and keep what has been found so far.
Does this tool work for other countries?
Yes. Use the Country dropdown above the seed input to pick a market. The suggest API takes a region hint, so the suggestions reflect that country's real searches. Phrasings like "reddit uk" and "reddit australia" show up naturally. Volume and CPC are pulled for that country too.
How accurate is the keyword volume data?
Volume comes from Google's Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API, the same source most professional SEO tools use. Numbers are Google's average monthly searches over the past 12 months. A seasonal phrase shows its yearly average, so check the trend chart for the peaks. For long-tail phrases under 100 a month, Google rounds into coarse buckets, so a 10 can mean anything from 1 to 50.
Can I export the harvested keywords?
Yes. After a harvest, the results table has an Export CSV button and a Copy button in the header. The export includes every harvested keyword with its volume, CPC, competition and the 12 monthly trend values, ready for a spreadsheet. Signed-in visitors can also star keywords to save them to their Keywords Everywhere favourites.
