How it works
People add "reddit" to their Google searches to get real opinions. Google has answered by ranking Reddit threads for "best", "review", "vs", and "worth it" queries. The Reddit Thread Finder shows you that layer of Google directly.
- Keyword mode runs a live Google search limited to reddit.com for your keyword and country. It lists every Reddit result in Google's order. Each row shows the thread, its subreddit, and the kind of page (post, wiki, or community page). It also shows the estimated monthly Google traffic the thread gets and how many keywords it ranks for. The subreddits panel rolls the same results up by community. The related-searches chips re-run the tool on Google's suggestions.
- Keywords per thread: press Keywords on any row to fetch the Google searches that exact thread ranks for, with position and estimated traffic. The list is saved with the results.
- Subreddit or URL mode starts from a Reddit page instead: a subreddit name, a thread URL, or a user page. It returns the Google keywords that page ranks for and its estimated traffic. A subreddit's figures cover its front page, not the threads inside it.
- Traffic is estimated from the keywords a page ranks for, their positions, and Google's search volumes. It counts organic Google visits only, so real readership through the feed, app, and Reddit search is higher.
Every search saves a result you can share with Copy link, export to CSV or Excel, or copy into a spreadsheet. It stays in Recent searches for 30 days. Each keyword search uses one SERP lookup, and each URL lookup or expansion uses one ranking lookup from your daily allowance. Every plan has a cap, and paid plans get higher caps and deeper results. Nothing here connects to Reddit or your account.
What the columns mean
- Rank
- The thread's position in Google's results for your keyword limited to reddit.com. Rank 1 is the first Reddit result Google shows.
- Thread
- The post, wiki page, or community page Google ranks, with a link. The " : r/sub" ending Google adds to titles is removed.
- Subreddit
- The community the thread belongs to. Click it to look up the keywords that community's front page ranks for.
- Kind
- Post (a thread with comments), wiki (a subreddit wiki page), community (a subreddit's front page), user (a profile), or other.
- Est. traffic
- Estimated monthly Google visits to that page, from its ranking keywords, positions, and search volumes. A dash means there is no ranking data for it yet.
- Keywords ranking
- How many Google keywords the page ranks for. The Keywords button lists them with position and traffic.
- Subreddits panel
- Each community in the results, with its number of ranking threads, their combined estimated traffic, and the best rank any of them holds.
- Keyword / Position / Est. traffic (URL mode)
- A Google keyword the page ranks for, where it ranks, and the estimated monthly visits that keyword sends to the page. The star saves the keyword to your Keywords Everywhere favourites.

What does the Reddit Thread Finder show?
Two things. In keyword mode it runs a Google search limited to reddit.com for your keyword. It lists the Reddit threads Google ranks, in Google's order, with the estimated monthly Google traffic to each thread and how many keywords it ranks for. A panel rolls the threads up by subreddit. In subreddit or URL mode it lists the Google keywords a subreddit page, thread, or user page ranks for, with position and estimated traffic. It is Google's view of Reddit, not Reddit's own search.
Why does Reddit rank on Google so much?
Since 2024 Google has shown discussion threads for "best", "review", "vs", and "worth it" searches. People also type "reddit" after a query on purpose, to get opinions instead of marketing. So the threads that rank are where buying decisions get discussed. Marketers, community managers, and writers want to know which threads those are, so they can read the objections, answer the questions, or write the guide the thread is missing.
Where do the traffic numbers come from?
Each figure is the estimated monthly Google traffic to a thread. It is computed from the keywords the thread ranks for, their positions, and Google's search volumes for those keywords. It covers organic Google visits only. Traffic from Reddit's own feed, app, and search is not included, so real readership is higher. The Keywords ranking column counts how many keywords the thread appears for.
What does the Keywords button on a thread do?
It fetches the Google keywords that thread ranks for, with position and estimated traffic. That shows you the exact searches sending people there. Each expansion uses one ranking lookup from your daily allowance. The list is saved with the results, so a shared link shows it too.
How is the subreddit or URL mode different?
You start from a Reddit page instead of a keyword: a subreddit such as r/SEO, a thread URL, or a user page. The tool returns the Google keywords that page ranks for and its estimated Google traffic. For a subreddit the numbers cover its front page, not every thread inside it. To see what a thread ranks for, paste the thread URL or use the Keywords button in keyword mode.
Which country should I pick?
The country of the searchers you care about. Google's results differ by country, so the threads and the traffic estimates change with it. The tool supports the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand, and South Africa, and remembers your pick. The country applies to both modes.
Can I find subreddits for a topic with this?
Yes. The subreddits panel above the threads lists every community Google surfaced for the keyword. For each one it shows the number of ranking threads, their combined estimated traffic, and the best rank. That tells you where a topic is discussed and which community wins the search results. Click a subreddit to look up the keywords its front page ranks for.
