See who does not follow you back on Instagram from the official data export, with no login and no password. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
followers_1.json + following.json).Nobody in this list.
How it works
Instagram lets every account download its own data, including the full followers and following lists. The Instagram Unfollowers Checker reads that export in your browser and compares the two lists. It shows who you follow that does not follow you back, who follows you that you do not follow, and mutuals. Every handle links to its profile. A filter box and a Copy button help with long lists.
- Drop the ZIP Instagram sends, or the individual
followers_1.jsonandfollowing.jsonfiles (or their.htmlversions). The checker finds the right files and ignores the rest. - Who unfollowed since last time: with the snapshot box ticked, the lists are saved in your browser's local storage, never on our servers. The next upload shows who followed, unfollowed, or was unfollowed since.
- No login, ever. Nothing connects to Instagram, no password is asked for, and the export never leaves your device.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download my followers and following list from Instagram?
In the Instagram app, open your profile and tap the menu. Go to Your activity, or Accounts Center and then Your information and permissions. Tap Download your information, then Download or transfer information, and choose your account. Pick Some of your information and tick only Followers and following. Choose Download to device, set the date range to All time and the format to JSON, and tap Create files. Instagram emails you when the ZIP is ready, usually within minutes for this small selection. Drop that ZIP here. The menu wording changes between app versions, but the "Download your information" step is always there.
Is this safe? Why does it not ask for my login?
It never touches your account. Unfollower apps that ask for your password log in as you, which breaks Instagram's terms and can get accounts restricted. This checker only reads the export file Instagram gave you, and it reads it inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded and no server sees your list. Closing the tab leaves nothing behind unless you choose to save a snapshot in your own browser.
Which files does the checker need?
The followers_1.json file, sometimes with followers_2.json and so on, and the following.json file. They live in the connections/followers_and_following folder of the export. You can drop the whole ZIP and the checker finds them, or unzip it and drop the files. The HTML format works too (followers_1.html, following.html), though JSON is smaller and faster.
Can it tell me who unfollowed me?
Yes, between two checks. Instagram's export is a snapshot of today, so the first upload shows who does not follow you back right now. Tick Remember this snapshot in my browser. The next time you upload a fresh export, the checker lists who unfollowed you, who followed you, who you unfollowed, and who you followed since then. The snapshot lives only in your browser's local storage.
Why do the counts differ from what the app shows?
The export is generated when you request it, so anything that changed since then is missing. The app can also count pending or recently deactivated accounts differently. A difference of a handful of accounts is normal. A large gap usually means an old export, so request a fresh one.
Why did my ZIP fail to open?
Two common causes. The export includes everything, such as photos and messages, which makes a very large file. Request only Followers and following so the ZIP is small. Or an older browser cannot unpack compressed ZIP entries. Unzip the file on your computer and drop the followers_1.json and following.json files instead.
What do the three lists mean?
Do not follow you back: accounts you follow that are not in your followers list. You do not follow back: followers you do not follow. Mutuals: accounts in both lists. Each handle links to its Instagram profile so you can review and act in the app. Nothing here unfollows anyone for you.
Is the Instagram unfollowers checker free?
It is free, with no signup, no login, and nothing connecting to your Instagram account. Everything runs in your browser. Use it as often as you like. Request a fresh export whenever you want an updated comparison.
