Enter your followers, engagement rate, and niche to estimate what a sponsored post, Reel, or Story frame could pay. Advanced options let you set posts per month and change the base rate.
How it works
There is no official Instagram rate card, so this calculator uses a transparent model built on the rule of thumb most creators and agencies start from: about $100 per 10,000 followers per sponsored feed post (a base rate of $10 per 1,000 followers), then adjusts it for the two things brands actually pay for.
Formula: Post rate = Followers / 1,000 x Base rate x Engagement factor x Niche multiplier. The engagement factor is your rate divided by 3% (the reference rate), capped between 0.5x and 2x, so a 6% account earns twice the base and a 1.5% account half. Niche multipliers run from 0.9 (gaming and entertainment) to 1.3 (tech, finance, and business), reflecting what advertisers pay to reach those audiences.
A sponsored Reel is estimated at 1.25x a post and a single Story frame at 0.4x, and the post estimate is shown as a range 25% either side. Treat every number as a starting point for a negotiation, not a quote: audience country, usage rights, exclusivity, and how many deliverables are bundled move real rates a long way.
Advanced options add sponsored posts per month (for monthly and yearly totals) and let you change the base rate per 1,000 followers.
Everything runs in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to a server, and there is no signup or limit. Your last entries are remembered locally so the calculator is ready next time.
What you will see

- The model's central estimate for one sponsored feed post or carousel.
- Post range (low / high)
- 25% below and above the central estimate, the spread typical of first offers.
- Estimated rate per sponsored Reel
- 1.25x the post estimate; Reels usually reach further and cost more to produce.
- Estimated rate per Story frame
- 0.4x the post estimate for a single frame; a three-frame Story sequence is often priced close to a post.
- Monthly / Yearly
- The post estimate multiplied by the sponsored posts per month you enter in Advanced options.
- Base rate per 1,000 followers
- The rule-of-thumb starting point, $10 by default. Edit it if rates in your market or niche run higher or lower.
Frequently asked questions
How much do Instagram influencers make per post?
Commonly cited ranges: nano creators (1k to 10k followers) around $10 to $100 per post, micro creators (10k to 100k) roughly $100 to $500, mid-tier accounts (100k to 500k) $500 to $5,000, and macro accounts above that from several thousand dollars up. The spread inside each tier is huge, which is why engagement rate and niche move the estimate here.
How is the estimate calculated?
Followers / 1,000 x a base rate ($10 by default, the "$100 per 10k followers" rule of thumb) x an engagement factor (your engagement rate divided by 3%, capped between 0.5x and 2x) x a niche multiplier between 0.9 and 1.3. Reels are 1.25x a post and a Story frame 0.4x. The formula is shown in full above so you can argue with any part of it, and the base rate is editable.
Where do I get my engagement rate?
Use the Instagram Engagement Rate Calculator with the likes, comments, saves, and shares of a typical recent post, or average your last 10 posts for an account-wide rate. Brands usually vet the averaged rate, not your best post.
Why do Reels and Stories have different rates?
Reels reach beyond your followers and take more work to produce, so they are usually priced above a feed post. A single Story frame disappears after 24 hours and takes minutes to make, so it is priced well below a post, though a multi-frame Story with a link sticker is often bundled at close to a post rate.
What else changes what a brand will pay?
Audience country and purchasing power (US, UK, and Western European audiences command more), usage rights (the brand reusing your content in ads), exclusivity (not working with competitors for a period), whitelisting, the number of deliverables in the bundle, and how well your audience matches the product. Each of these can add 20% to 100% on top of a base rate.
Does this tool look up my Instagram account?
No. Nothing connects to Instagram; you enter your follower count and engagement rate yourself and the maths runs in your browser. Instagram does not allow tools to read account data without login, so typing the numbers is the reliable route.
Is the estimate a guarantee of what I can charge?
No. It is a model, not a quote, meant to give you a defensible starting point for a negotiation. Real rates are set by what a specific brand needs from a specific creator; use the range, not the single number, and adjust the base rate if you know your market runs higher or lower.
Is the Instagram money calculator free?
Yes, free with no signup, running entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded; your last entries are remembered locally so the calculator is ready next time.
