How it works

Each button transforms your text in place. UPPERCASE and lowercase are straight conversions; Sentence case fixes Caps Lock text and capitalizes sentence starts; Capitalized Case capitalizes every word; Title Case follows headline style and keeps minor words lowercase; aLtErNaTiNg and iNVERSE cover the fun and the fix-my-caps-lock cases.

Acronyms written in full capitals (NASA, USA) survive the smart transforms. Everything runs locally: nothing is uploaded and there is no signup.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert uppercase to lowercase?

Paste your text and click lowercase. The text converts in place, ready to copy. Every transform works the same way: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, Capitalized Case, aLtErNaTiNg, and iNVERSE.

What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalized Case?

Capitalized Case capitalizes every single word. Title Case follows headline style: it keeps minor words like "the", "of", and "to" lowercase unless they start or end the title. For AP versus Chicago title styles, use our dedicated Title Case Converter.

What does Sentence case do?

It lowercases your text and then capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, plus the standalone pronoun "I". It is the quickest fix for text typed with Caps Lock on.

Will acronyms like NASA survive the conversion?

Yes, in most cases. Words written entirely in capitals are treated as acronyms and left alone by Sentence case, Capitalized Case, and Title Case. The exception: if nearly all of your text is uppercase, we assume it is Caps Lock text you are trying to fix and convert everything.

Can I undo a conversion?

Yes. The Undo button restores your text to how it was before the last transform (one step back). Your text is also remembered in your own browser between visits.

What are alternating and inverse case for?

Alternating case (aLtErNaTiNg) is the "mocking" meme style. Inverse case flips every letter's case, which rescues text typed with Caps Lock exactly backwards.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. All conversion happens locally in your browser; nothing is sent to a server and there is no signup. Your latest text is kept only in your own browser so it survives a reload.
