Amazon FBA Calculator

See Amazon referral and fulfillment fees per unit, plus your profit, margin, and ROI.

Enter your selling price, referral rate, and FBA fulfillment fee to see Amazon's cut and your payout, then add your costs for profit, margin, and ROI.

How it works

An FBA sale pays two main fees: the referral fee, a percentage of the price (most categories 15%, minimum $0.30), and the FBA fulfillment fee, a flat per-unit amount set by your product's size and weight tier (a typical small standard-size item runs about $3-$4). Monthly storage adds a smaller per-unit cost.

Formula: Fees = max(Price x Referral %, $0.30) + Fulfillment + Storage; Payout = Price - Fees; Profit = Payout - Cost of goods - Inbound shipping.

Honest note: fulfillment fees follow a detailed size/weight schedule that Amazon revises (2026 also added a fuel surcharge), so this calculator asks for YOUR tier's fee, look it up in Seller Central's Revenue Calculator, and treats it as an editable input rather than pretending to maintain the whole matrix.

Advanced options add cost of goods and inbound shipping, unlocking profit per unit, profit margin, and ROI on your cash.

Everything runs in your browser. Your numbers are never sent to a server, and there is no signup or limit. Your last entries are remembered locally so the calculator is ready next time.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Amazon take from an FBA sale?

Typically 30-40% of the selling price once referral and fulfillment fees combine. A $25 item at the 15% referral rate ($3.75) with a $3.50 small-standard fulfillment fee pays $7.25 in fees, 29%, before storage. Low-priced items fare worst because the flat fulfillment fee dominates.

What is the referral fee?

Amazon's commission on the sale: 15% in most categories (8% in a few like consumer electronics, more in others), with a $0.30 minimum per item. It applies to the full selling price. The rate field is editable, so set your category's exact percentage.

Where do I find my exact FBA fulfillment fee?

In Seller Central: the Revenue Calculator (or your product's fee preview) shows the precise per-unit fulfillment fee for its size/weight tier. Enter that number here. Fees change with Amazon's annual updates and 2026's fuel and logistics surcharge, so re-check after each announcement.

What profit margin should an FBA product make?

Many sellers target a payout of roughly a third of price after Amazon fees and product costs, i.e. a 25-35% net margin, with 100%+ ROI on the cash tied up in inventory. Turn on Advanced options, add cost of goods and inbound shipping, and the calculator shows margin and ROI directly.

Does this include every possible FBA cost?

It covers the big three (referral, fulfillment, monthly storage) plus your product costs. It does not model aged-inventory surcharges, returns processing, ads, or removal fees, real-world extras that argue for conservative planning. It is not affiliated with Amazon.
