How it works

People Also Search For lists the keywords Google ties to your seed search in its "People also search for" box. Google shows that box when a searcher clicks a result and then comes back to the results page, so the keywords in it are what people try next. The list comes from the Keywords Everywhere database, and each keyword then gets its search volume, cost per click, competition score and 12-month trend.

One lookup per seed. Enter one seed keyword, or switch to Bulk and enter up to 5. Each seed takes a few seconds. The results from every seed land in one table, and repeated keywords are listed once.

Country. The list is worldwide, so it can include searches from other markets. The Country dropdown sets where the volume and CPC are measured. Keywords with no searches in that country are hidden by default. Untick "Hide keywords with no search volume" above the table to see all of them.

Limits. On the Free plan each seed returns up to 100 keywords, and you get 250 keyword lookups per day, shared across all our keyword tools. Paid Keywords Everywhere plans return up to 2,000 keywords per seed and use their own credits instead.

Known limitations.

  • A collected dataset. The People Also Search For list is a collected dataset, not a live scrape of today's results, so very recent topics may be missing. The search volume and trend on every row are current.
  • Averaged over 12 months. Volume is Google's average monthly searches across the trailing year, so a seasonal peak is smoothed out. Check the trend chart for the shape behind the average.
  • Long-tail rounding. Google rounds low-volume terms into coarse buckets, so treat very low volumes as near zero.

What the columns mean

Keyword
A People Also Search For keyword for your seed. Click the link icon to open it in the SERP Checker, Related Keywords Finder, or Keyword Finder. Signed-in visitors with credits see a star in front of each keyword. Click it to save the keyword to your Keywords Everywhere favorites.
Volume
Google's average monthly searches over the past 12 months in the country you picked, from Google Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API. A keyword with no searches in that country is hidden by default. Untick "Hide keywords with no search volume" above the table to see every keyword.
CPC
The average cost per click advertisers pay in Google Ads. A high CPC usually signals buying intent. An empty CPC means no one is advertising on that keyword.
Competition
Google Ads' competition score: Low, Medium or High, based on how many advertisers bid on the keyword. It is not the same as organic ranking difficulty.
Trend %
Last month's search volume compared with the average of the 11 months before it. A positive number means the keyword is rising.
12-month trend
A small chart of monthly search volume over the past year. A flat or rising line confirms steady demand. Hover over any point for that month's value.

Frequently asked questions

What does "People also search for" mean?

It is a box Google adds under a search result. When you click a result and then return to the results page, Google assumes the page did not fully answer you and suggests other searches that people in the same position tried. Those suggestions are the People Also Search For keywords, often shortened to PASF.

How is People Also Search For different from People Also Ask?

People Also Ask is a box of questions with expandable answers in the middle of the results page. People Also Search For is a set of alternative searches, mostly short phrases rather than questions, shown under a result you clicked and came back from. For the question box, try the FAQ Generator.

How is this different from related searches?

Related searches sit at the bottom of the results page and stay close to the wording of your seed. People Also Search For keywords come from what searchers try after an unsatisfying click, so they wander further: other brands, other product types, the next step in a task. Run both for a full picture: Related Keywords Finder.

How do I use PASF keywords for SEO?

Three ways. Use them as section headings so one page answers the follow-up searches too. Use the ones with real volume as topics for supporting articles that link back to your main page. And read them as a signal of intent: if the list is full of brand names or comparisons, searchers are still choosing, and a comparison page will serve them better than a product page.

Why does my keyword return few results, or none?

The People Also Search For list is a collected dataset, not a live scrape of today's results. A very recent topic, a new product name, or a rare long-tail phrase may not be in it yet. Try a broader version of the keyword.

How many keywords do I get, and what does it cost?

On the Free plan each seed returns up to 100 keywords, and you get 250 keyword lookups per day, shared across all our keyword tools. Paid Keywords Everywhere plans return up to 2,000 keywords per seed and use their own credits instead.

How accurate are the search volumes?

Volume comes from Google's Keyword Planner via the Keywords Everywhere API, the same source most professional SEO tools use. Numbers are Google's average monthly searches over the trailing 12 months. Two things follow from that: a seasonal peak is smoothed into the yearly average, and Google rounds low-volume long-tail terms into coarse buckets.

I used PASF Keywords in Keyword Keg. Is this the same tool?

Yes, this is its replacement. Keyword Keg has been retired and its tools now live here as free tools. See where each Keyword Keg tool went.
