Convert PNG images to JPG for much smaller photo files, or JPG back to PNG. Transparency is flattened onto white for JPG. Everything runs in your browser.
How it works
Drop in your images and pick the target format. Converting to JPG re-encodes each file at the quality you choose and flattens any transparency onto white; converting to PNG is lossless. Each result shows the size before and after, with individual downloads or Download all.
Everything runs locally. Your images are never uploaded, and there is no signup. Animated GIFs export as a single still frame.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Drop in your PNG files, leave the format on JPG, pick a quality, and download. Each file is converted in your browser and shows the size before and after. Photos saved as PNG usually shrink dramatically as JPG.
How do I convert JPG to PNG?
The same page works in both directions: drop in JPG files and switch the format to PNG. PNG is lossless, so nothing further is discarded, but note it cannot restore detail the JPG compression already removed.
What happens to transparency?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are flattened onto a white background during conversion. If you need transparency preserved, keep the image as PNG (or use our WebP Converter, since WebP supports transparency too).
Why convert PNG to JPG at all?
File size. PNG stores photos losslessly, which makes them several times larger than needed for web use. Converting photos to JPG at around 80% quality usually cuts the size by 60-90% with no change you would notice at normal viewing sizes.
When should I keep PNG instead?
Keep PNG for graphics with sharp edges and flat colors, such as logos, icons, screenshots of text, and anything that needs transparency. JPG compression can leave visible artifacts around crisp edges and thin lines.
Does converting lose quality?
Converting to JPG is lossy, so very low quality settings soften detail; around 80% is a good balance. Converting to PNG is lossless. Avoid converting back and forth repeatedly, as each JPG save recompresses the image.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Add multiple files and they all convert with the same settings, each with its own download button plus a Download all option.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser, so your images never leave your device. There is no signup, and re-encoding strips EXIF metadata such as location data as a side effect.
